    Digital ground fault monitor for grounded and high-resistance grounded AC/DC systems

    This devices meets or exceeds compliance with the upcoming 2014 NEC 250.167(B) code for ground fault detection on grounded DC systems.

    The RCMA420 monitors for ground fault current in grounded and high-resistance grounded AC systems, both single-phase and three-phase, as well as pure DC and mixed AC/DC systems. The RCMA420 reads a true RMS value, and displays the read ground fault current in real-time on the built-in digital display. The RCMA420 features a steplessly adjustable setpoint from 10 mA to 500 mA. Along with the main alarm value, a prewarning alarm, set as a percentage of the main alarm value (50 to 100%), may be set.

    All settings for the device are changed via the device's onboard, easy-to-use menu. Three separate time delays may be utilized - a trip delay (0 to 10 s), a startup delay (0 to 10 s), and a delay on release (0 to 99 s). Two SPDT alarm relays may be set to normally energized or normally de-energized operation, and may be set to latching or non-latching operation. An external BENDER current transformer is required for operation.

    Compatible current transformers include the W20AB, W35AB, and W60AB.

    The RCMS460 monitors for ground faults in grounded and high-resistance grounded AC/DC systems, both single- and three-phase. The RCMS460 is capable of monitoring up to twelve separate systems or branches from one device. Each channel may be set to a separate alarm value. AC circuits may be set to an alarm value of 6 mA to 20 A. DC and mixed AC/DC circuits may be set to an alarm value of 10 mA to 10 A. One DPDT contact output for the device may be set to normally energized or normally de-energized operation, latching or non-latching.

    The detailed LCD display is capable of showing a detailed analysis of the system, including: a chart showing each channel's ground fault current in real-time; individual alarm messages for each channel; and an easy-to-use menu for settings.

    The RCMS460 features three separate time delays - a response delay (0 - 999 s), a startup delay (0 - 99 s), and a delay on release (0 - 999 s). Additional features include a harmonics analysis chart, selectable filtering options, and compatibility with BENDER's gateway devices for connecting to Ethernet and Modbus/TCP networks.

    Integratable ground fault monitoring modules for converters and combiner boxes

    RCMB20-500 and RCMB35-500 series ground fault monitoring modules are designed for fault current monitoring in AC/DC systems. All monitoring electronics are built into the measuring current transformer, no external monitor is required. The small form-factor devices are designed for integration into equipment and panels on the line side, such as frequency converters, inverters, and combiner boxes. Push-wire terminal connectors and insulated wire ensure simple installation and integration.

    RCMB20-500 models feature a 0.78" (20 mm) opening, and RCMB35-500 models feature a 1.38" (35 mm) opening. Both models have a 4 - 20 mA output, proportional to the RMS value of the measured ground fault current from 0 to 500 mA.

    Digital ground fault detector for ungrounded solar arrays up to 100 kW

    This device meets or exceeds the requirements of NEC 690.35 and CEC 64-018(1)(e) for ground fault detection on ungrounded solar arrays.

    Designed specifically for photovoltaic systems 100 kW and below, the isoPV425 ground fault detector provides early indication of ground faults before leakage current may even be present. The device detects both AC and DC ground faults by monitoring the system's insulation resistance. The isoPV425 and AGH420 can connect to systems up to 690 VAC / 1000 VDC.

    Insulation resistance values are displayed in real-time on the device's LCD display. Additional overvoltage and undervoltage detection are available, with voltage measurements from positive to ground and negative to ground when connected to DC. Two single pole contacts are available, which may be set to normally energized (failsafe) or normally deenergized (non-failsafe) mode. An RS-485 interface is available for connection to remote BENDER communication gateways. For advanced users, separately adjustable values for resistance and impedance are available as well.

    The isoPV425 may also be used for determining PV system isolation prior to startup on both grounded and ungrounded solar arrays, per the upcoming 2014 requirements of NEC 690.5(A)(1) and NEC 690.35(C)(1).

    Digital ground fault detector for ungrounded solar arrays

    This device meets or exceeds the requirements of NEC 690.35 and CEC 64-018(1)(e) for ground fault detection on ungrounded solar arrays, as well as the upcoming 2014 requirements for array isolation testing prior to startup.

    The isoPV detects ground faults in isolated (ungrounded) solar arrays up to 793 VAC / 1100 VDC. The iso-PV monitors for ground faults by measuring the system's insulation resistance, providing early indication of ground faults before leakage current may even be present. Both AC and DC ground faults can be detected, including on systems that have high leakage capacitances.

    Designed specifically for photovoltaic arrays, the iso-PV satisfies the ground detection requirements of NEC article 690.35 for ungrounded DC solar arrays. Included are two components, the ground detector and the high voltage coupler. Both are required for operation (the voltage coupler may be installed in a separate cabinet to keep high voltage connections separate). The iso-PV features a digital display which shows the array's insulation resistance in real-time. Two SPDT contacts are available.

    The isoPV may also be used for testing array isolation prior to startup on both grounded and ungrounded arrays, per the upcoming 2014 requirements of NEC 690.5(A)(1) and NEC 690.35(C)(1).

    Ground fault detector for large scale isolated (ungrounded) systems and solar arrays

    This device meets or exceeds the following code requirements:

    • NEC 690.35 and CEC 64-018(1)(e) for ground fault detection on ungrounded solar arrays
    • NEC 250.21(B) and CEC 10-106(2) for ground fault detection on ungrounded AC systems
    • NEC 250.167(A) for ground fault detection on ungrounded DC systems

    Designed specifically for large scale ungrounded systems and photovoltaic systems, the iso1685P ground fault detector provides early indication of ground faults before leakage current may even be present. The device detects both AC and DC ground faults by monitoring the system's insulation resistance. The iso1685 can connect to systems up to 1000 VAC / 1500 VDC. Two separately adjustable response values are available. Two SPDT contacts are available to trip on an active alarm, as well as a third SPDT contact for system and device errors. RS-485 communication is integrated for connection to BENDER's remote communication system. The iso1685 also supports connecting to Bender's ground fault location system for ungrounded systems.

    The iso1685P can be combined with other equipment to create a ground fault location system. Faults can be located down to the faulty string with both portable and fixed installed equipment.

    The iso1685P may also be used for determining PV system isolation prior to startup on both grounded and ungrounded solar arrays.
